About the Role
Meridian Advisory is seeking a detail-oriented Business Operations Coordinator to join our Finance & Operations team on a part-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a business administration student to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic consulting environment while supporting the operational backbone of our growing firm.
Reporting directly to Mei Lin, Director of Finance & Operations, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across our 45-person team. As we navigate a period of significant growth and evaluate our partnership structure, this role will provide valuable exposure to the inner workings of a boutique management consulting firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Billing & Financial Administration: Process invoices, track project expenses, and assist with accounts receivable management across our strategy, operations, and digital transformation engagements
- Resource Scheduling & Coordination: Maintain consultant availability calendars, coordinate project assignments, and support resource allocation decisions for client engagements
- Office Operations Management: Oversee office supplies procurement, coordinate maintenance requests, and ensure our Perth office runs efficiently
- Meeting & Event Coordination: Schedule partner meetings, arrange client workshops, and coordinate logistics for internal team events
- Document Management: Maintain filing systems for contracts, proposals, and compliance documentation
- General Administrative Support: Assist the Finance & Operations team with ad-hoc projects, data entry, and process improvement initiatives
What You'll Bring
Essential Requirements: - Currently enrolled in a Business Administration, Commerce, or related degree program - Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook - Professional written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities - Availability for 20-25 hours per week, including core business hours
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience in an office environment or professional services setting - Basic understanding of financial processes and billing procedures - Experience with scheduling software or project management tools - Interest in consulting or professional services industry
