A boutique management consulting firm
Clarity, where most firms
offer complexity.
Clarity in Complexity Meridian works with leadership teams in resources, government, and healthcare on the questions that matter most to their organisations — strategy, operations, and the transformation programs that decide whether ambition becomes reality.1
What we do
Six practices, one operating principle.
Meridian's edge is that clients work directly with partners — not graduates in suits. Engagements are scoped tightly, staffed deliberately, and signed off personally.2
Scoped to a defined question with a partner-led team. Typical engagements run 4–6 months with weekly checkpoints and a single named partner accountable end-to-end.

How we think about engagements
Where we work best.
Not every problem suits a boutique firm. We say no more than we say yes. The engagements where Meridian creates the most value sit in the top-right quadrant: high strategic complexity and a leadership team ready to decide.

The firm in figures
A small firm, by intention.
Meridian is built around senior involvement on every engagement. The numbers are small on purpose — they keep the model honest.
Exhibit 02 Headcount
Total staff. 4 partners, 12 senior consultants, 29 consultants and operations.
Exhibit 03 Client retention
Annual client retention rate. Most relationships extend across multiple engagements.
Exhibit 04 Practice mix
Private sector to government practice split. Both growing.
The Partner Track Question
Meridian has grown steadily through partner-led engagements, but the model is reaching its limits. The four partners are overcommitted and client work is starting to slip. The firm needs to decide whether to promote from within (creating a new partner tier from senior consultants), hire lateral partners from Big Four firms, or fundamentally restructure how engagements are staffed. Meanwhile, a state government department has approached Meridian about a large-scale digital transformation program that would be the firm's biggest engagement — but it would require dedicating a partner full-time for 18 months.
"We are one bad quarter from burning out our best people. The partner track question is no longer hypothetical." — Catherine Wu, Managing Partner

- Work-life balance at partner level — burnout risk
Want to discuss an engagement?
Meridian accepts new clients on the strength of the question, not the size of the budget. The fastest route to a conversation is a short note about what you're trying to figure out — we will be in touch within two business days.
- Engagement scope is defined at proposal stage and revisited at each weekly partner review. Clients receive a single named partner accountable for delivery from kickoff through close-out.
